This was part of an email I got this weekend from a restaurant that was featured on the ABR Roadshow a year ago. I took the restaurant name out to protect them, but you get the point. This email excited me, because It’s the ultimate sign of an owner who’s willing to ask for help.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past few years, it’s to surround yourself with people you can be open and honest with. People you can turn to for help and advice from, all while staying in the, “No judgement zone.”
In reality, this owner wasn’t failing, he just has some holes to plug and then he’ll be fine. In fact, due to him being willing to reach out tells me he’ll be more than fine.
Friends, create a circle of trust like this. Professionals, peers and friends that will help when you need it.
