Got to interview Susie from La Lanterna at Pizza Expo, and it was great! They are a pizzeria doing Napoleonic-style pizza in the middle of Detroit, very unusual, but they use it to their advantage! Of course, having a different pizza style in their area helps, but they bring such an authentic and great experience to their customers, both through their food and their staff, that their word of mouth markets their restaurant for them. I love it when restaurants get their customer experience right, because if it’s bad, they won’t come back.
